(Rambukkana to Kadugannawa) (Tunnel No. 2 to 11 inclusive)<\/p>\n<p>Tunnel No. 18 (1054<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@225.89 km) is a notable tunnel at\u00a0<i>Pattipola<\/i>\u00a0which resides on the border of Central and Uva provinces and also according to a belief, it&#8217;s situated on the margin of Sri Lanka&#8217;s wet zone and dry zone, which seems to be logical.<\/p>\n<p>There are 14 tunnels in between\u00a0<i>Ohiya<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Idalgashinna<\/i>\u00a0section, which is the highest number of tunnels in between any adjacent stations. (Tunnel No. 22 to 35 inclusive)<\/p>\n<p>Last tunnel number is Tunnel No. 43 (216<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@290.51 km) which belongs to 45<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>Tunnel No. 5A (1364<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@94.34 km) and 9A (622<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@102.21 km) tunnels were built after identifying possible danger of existed track before.<\/p>\n<p>No. 1 (581<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@52.40 km) and 1A (400<i>ft<\/i>\u00a0@52.40 km) is twin tunnels which resides side by side on adjacent tracks near\u00a0<i>Botale.\u00a0<\/i>So it can be counted as a single when counting number of tunnels on the track.<\/p>\n<p>Other than those on Main Line there are two small tunnels on Coastal line (191<i>ft<\/i>) and Matale Line (168<i>ft<\/i>).
